Part 841p – Smith Groh Genealogy – Parisé Descendant Chart – Update

22 February 2013

Good Day,

In my search and research of the Parisé Family Line and Genealogy I have not, as yet, discovered any more children born to CK’s gggg-grandparents Thimothée and Catherine (née Grenier) Parisé than the six accounted for thus far. Both gggg-grandfather Thimothée and gggg-grandmother Catherine were a widower and widow, respectively.

Here is the newly updated Parisé Descendant Chart.

GGGG-grandfather Thimothée had been married previously to Juliene Chapados. Julienne (née Chapados) and their son, Louis Ligroi Parisé had passed away in 1866. GGGG-grandmother Catherine (née Grenier) Parisé had been married to Romain Huard. I have not discovered when he passed away nor have I found, at this point, whether gggg-grandmother Catherine and her first husband Romain ever had had any children.

I will now be focusing in on gggg-grandfather Thimothée Parisé ancestors. I continue my search and research.

Enjoy,

Jim

This time CK’s ggg-granduncle Napoléon Parisé, the eldest son of gggg-grandparents Thimothée and Catherine (née Grenier). GGG-Granduncle Napoléon was born and baptized in 1868 in Port Daniel in the Parish of St. Georges, Bonaventure County in Gaspé, Québec.

Here are the images from The Drouin Collection of the Church and Civil Registers. I have downloaded them from Ancestry.ca.

Based on the information that I have uncovered to date it appears that gggg-grandparents Thimothée and Catherine (née Grenier) Parisé may have had six children:

1. GGG-Granduncle Napoléon,
2. GGG-Granduncle Jean Abel,
3. GGG-Grandaunt Marie Agnès,
4. GGG-Grandaunt Marie Archange,
5. GGG-Grandfather Pierre Léandre (Leo), and
6. GGG-Grandaunt Malvina

14 February 2013

Good Day,

And today's find in my search and research of the genealogy of the Parisé Family Line is the 1872 Baptism Registration of CK's ggg-granduncle Jean Abel Parisé.  I discovered both the Civil and Parochial Registrations from The Drouin Collection.  Both were downloaded from Ancestry.ca.

GGG-Granduncle Jean Abel Parisé is gggg-grandparents Thimothée and Catherine (née Grenier)'s second child and second son.  He was born 7 September 1872 and baptized on the 10th of the same month.

Presently I have discovered an elder brother, ggg-granduncle Napolèon

Presently I have discovered an elder brother to ggg-granduncle Jean Abel, ggg-granduncle Napolèon who was baptized in 1868.  Given the spread of four years between ggg-granduncles Jean Abel and Napolèon there may have been another Parisé sibling.  Stay tuned and check back to see who and what I may find.

Part 838p – Smith Groh Genealogy – 1874 – GGG-Grandaunt Marie Agnès Parisé – Port Daniel, Québec

13 February 2013

Good Day,

I’ve been a wee bit removed from my regular search and research in my genealogy work. I’m trying to set myself on some sort of daily schedule to complete the reams of documents that I have most recent discovered of the Parisé Family Line. I figured I would just bite the bullet and head straight into the work and present my findings.

The next on my lists of finds is the Baptism Registration of CK’s ggg-grandaunt Marie Agnès Parisé. As the document indicates she was born 12 December 1874 and baptized on Christmas Day.

Here are the images from The Drouin Collection as downloaded from Ancestry.ca.

Part 837hg – Brunhammer Doherty Genealogy – Search for the Marriage of Great-Grandparents John Eugene and Hannah (née Gallagher) Holmes – Pennsylvania?

05 February 2013

Good Day,

Sometimes in the work of my search and research of genealogy I have a number of pokers in the fire. In this case it is the search of the vital records of the actual marriage of great-grandparents John Eugene and Hannah (née Gallagher) Holmes.

According to the 1880 US Census taken in Rahn Township in the County of Schuylkill, Pennsylvania they were husband and wife as of 18 June 1880. Of their three children listed on the same Census, their eldest, granduncle John Herbert Holmes was 4 years old. (See Part 751h.) Further according to the Calvary Episcopal Church Baptism Register he was baptized 2 November 1876 and his parents are listed as Jno. Eugene & Hanora Boyd Holmes. This Church was located at Tamaqua in Schuylkill County. (See Part 768h.)

Following the two document leads and searching for great-grandparents John Eugene and Hannah (aka Honora)’s marriage I began a search for a registration in the Tamaqua area.

Today I received notice from The Historical Society of Schuylkill County that

The information that you are requesting would need to come from church records. It wasn’t until 1885 that Schuylkill County began keeping marriage records and it was 1893 when they started to keep birth records. We do have an index of marriages that appeared in the Pottsville Miners Journal newspaper for the timeframe that John & Hannah would have been married but they are not listed in the index. We don’t have any Episcopal Church records for the Tamaqua area.

Back to the drawing board. Where were great-grandparents John and Hannah married? I will searching.

Enjoy,

Jim

Part 835p – Smith Groh Genealogy – Parisé Descendant Chart Updated

01 February 2013

Good Day,

A good way to begin a new month, February, is with an update of a visual representation of the CK’s Parisé Family Descendant Chart. It is a very good method, for me to, to have this type of pictorial arrangement, of the ancestry and genealogy of the family that I am currently working on.

This is now my 8th update of the Parisé Descendant Chart. This new update now includes 6-times great-grandparents Michel and Rosalie (née Roussi) Parisey and 7-times great-grandparents – Michel and Marie (née Albert) Parisey and Pierre Léon and Anne (née Chapados) Roussi.

All information on this Descendant Chart is based on current and available information. It may change as new and more correct data is discovered. New and updated day may be entered in red. A red or blue and yellow symbol represents the actual blood line.

If you have any new information, data, ideas, family history, please feel free to contact me.

Enjoy,

Jim
